Where the jobs are

The eight largest role categories by active postings, each a queryable filter on the API.

The top eight categories hold 142,568 postings — 58.4% of all 244,063 active listings. Software Engineering leads at 30,266 postings, 12.4% of the total, down 2,677 from August's 32,943. Healthcare moved into second with 22,764 (+228 MoM), displacing Business & Operations (21,912, −1,030 MoM) to third — the first time Healthcare has ranked second across these four editions.

Remote availability continues to split sharply by role type. Sales & Account Management (39.6%) and Software Engineering (37.4%) run well above the dataset-wide 23.9% remote share, while Hospitality & Retail (3.3%) and Skilled Trades & Field Roles (4.9%) remain nearly entirely on-site.

Top 10 countries: United States (118,923) · United Kingdom (18,173) · Germany (9,865) · Canada (8,690) · France (8,591) · India (6,997) · The Netherlands (5,167) · Australia (3,851) · Brazil (3,301) · Sweden (2,880)

The United States shed 7,310 postings month over month (126,233 → 118,923), the largest absolute country-level decline this period. Canada (8,690) overtook France (8,591) to move from fifth to fourth. Spain dropped out of the top 10 entirely; Sweden entered at tenth (2,880), and Australia climbed from tenth to eighth (3,851).

Remote work

23.9% of active postings are marked remote, up 0.3 percentage points from August's 23.5%. The figure is derived from the structured location resolved on each posting rather than from free-text title matching. A posting only counts as remote when its resolved location says so, making this a floor on real remote availability — what employers actually declare.

The category breakdown in the table above continues to show the same structural pattern: remote share concentrates in knowledge-work roles (Software Engineering at 37.4%, Sales & Account Management at 39.6%) and stays near zero in location-dependent categories. The dataset-wide rate reflects that mix rather than a uniform shift across all role types.

Pay transparency

34.2% of active postings disclose a salary, down 0.1 percentage points from August's 34.3%. The figure reflects only what employers actually publish — salary is never inferred or estimated — so it is a floor on real pay transparency, not a model of it.

This is a single dataset-wide rate. The breakdown does not carry disclosure per category, so this edition reports the global number only and makes no per-category claim. The rate has held in a narrow 0.1pp band across the last two editions, sustaining the gain recorded in August after two months at 32.8%.

Method & citation

  • Computed directly from the live Job Listings API dataset — the same records the API returns.
  • Counts cover a rolling 21-day active window; postings older than that drop out.
  • Read first-party from 13 applicant tracking systems, never scraped from aggregators.
  • LinkedIn is not a source and is not included in any figure here.
  • Salary disclosure reflects what employers actually post — salary is never inferred or estimated.
  • Remote share is derived from the structured location resolved on each posting.
