Where the jobs are

The eight largest role categories by active postings, each a queryable filter on the API.

The top eight categories hold 156,163 postings — 57.6% of all 271,152 active listings. Software Engineering leads at 32,459 postings, 12.0% of the total, up 826 from June. Healthcare climbed to second with 25,751 postings — a gain of 2,681 month over month, the largest absolute increase among the top eight. Finance, Legal & Compliance shed 1,316 postings (−9.6% MoM), the sharpest decline in this group.

Remote availability continues to split by role type. Sales & Account Management (38.6%) and Software Engineering (36.5%) run well above the dataset-wide 22.6% remote share, while Hospitality & Retail (3.4%) and Skilled Trades & Field Roles (5.2%) remain nearly entirely on-site.

Top 10 countries: United States (122,015) · United Kingdom (22,569) · Germany (13,084) · France (12,111) · Canada (9,271) · India (7,653) · The Netherlands (6,576) · Australia (4,161) · Spain (4,085) · Brazil (3,566)

The United Kingdom gained 2,970 postings month over month (19,599 → 22,569), the largest absolute country-level increase this period. Germany moved into third place at 13,084, ahead of France (12,111), reversing their June order. Canada fell to 9,271, down 1,019 postings from June's 10,290.

Remote work

22.6% of active postings are marked remote, down 0.9 percentage points from June's 23.5%. The figure is derived from the structured location resolved on each posting rather than from free-text title matching. A posting only counts as remote when its resolved location says so, making this a floor on real remote availability — what employers actually declare.

The category breakdown in the table above continues to show the same structural pattern: remote share concentrates in knowledge-work roles (Software Engineering at 36.5%, Sales & Account Management at 38.6%) and stays near zero in location-dependent categories. The dataset-wide rate reflects that mix rather than a uniform shift across all role types.

Pay transparency

32.8% of active postings disclose a salary, unchanged from June's 32.8%. The figure reflects only what employers actually publish — salary is never inferred or estimated — so it is a floor on real pay transparency, not a model of it.

This is a single dataset-wide rate. The breakdown does not carry disclosure per category, so this edition reports the global number only and makes no per-category claim. Stability at 32.8% across two consecutive months suggests the disclosure rate is not in rapid motion at the dataset level.

Method & citation

  • Computed directly from the live Job Listings API dataset — the same records the API returns.
  • Counts cover a rolling 21-day active window; postings older than that drop out.
  • Read first-party from 13 applicant tracking systems, never scraped from aggregators.
  • LinkedIn is not a source and is not included in any figure here.
  • Salary disclosure reflects what employers actually post — salary is never inferred or estimated.
  • Remote share is derived from the structured location resolved on each posting.
