Where the jobs are

The eight largest role categories by active postings, each a queryable filter on the API.

The top eight categories hold 152,073 postings — 58.4% of all 260,353 active listings. Software Engineering leads at 32,943 postings, 12.7% of the total, up 484 from July. Healthcare shed 3,215 postings month over month (25,751 → 22,536), the largest absolute decline among the top eight, dropping it from second to third. Business & Operations moved into second with 22,942, down 835 from July's 23,777.

Remote availability continues to split by role type. Sales & Account Management (38.8%) and Software Engineering (37.6%) run well above the dataset-wide 23.5% remote share, while Hospitality & Retail (3.0%) and Skilled Trades & Field Roles (5.5%) remain nearly entirely on-site.

Top 10 countries: United States (126,233) · United Kingdom (18,291) · Germany (12,010) · France (10,043) · Canada (9,086) · India (7,509) · The Netherlands (5,602) · Brazil (3,827) · Spain (3,725) · Australia (3,660)

The United States added 4,218 postings month over month (122,015 → 126,233), the largest absolute country-level gain this period. The United Kingdom dropped sharply from 22,569 to 18,291 (−4,278 MoM), the largest absolute decline. Brazil climbed from tenth (3,566) to eighth (3,827), moving ahead of Spain (3,725) and Australia (3,660).

Remote work

23.5% of active postings are marked remote, up 0.9 percentage points from July's 22.6% and back in line with June's 23.5%. The figure is derived from the structured location resolved on each posting rather than from free-text title matching. A posting only counts as remote when its resolved location says so, making this a floor on real remote availability — what employers actually declare.

The category breakdown in the table above continues to show the same structural pattern: remote share concentrates in knowledge-work roles (Software Engineering at 37.6%, Sales & Account Management at 38.8%) and stays near zero in location-dependent categories. The dataset-wide rate reflects that mix rather than a uniform shift across all role types.

Pay transparency

34.3% of active postings disclose a salary, up 1.5 percentage points from July's 32.8%. The figure reflects only what employers actually publish — salary is never inferred or estimated — so it is a floor on real pay transparency, not a model of it.

This is a single dataset-wide rate. The breakdown does not carry disclosure per category, so this edition reports the global number only and makes no per-category claim. The 1.5pp increase from July is the first meaningful movement after two months at 32.8%, bringing the rate to its highest point across the three editions.

Method & citation

  • Computed directly from the live Job Listings API dataset — the same records the API returns.
  • Counts cover a rolling 21-day active window; postings older than that drop out.
  • Read first-party from 13 applicant tracking systems, never scraped from aggregators.
  • LinkedIn is not a source and is not included in any figure here.
  • Salary disclosure reflects what employers actually post — salary is never inferred or estimated.
  • Remote share is derived from the structured location resolved on each posting.
